Media awards- analysis

The Bench

The bench used non-diegetic music, this helps create an atmosphere. Also there was a voice over of the main protagonist which assisted in directing the audience about his nature and give a little background on him. The Bench used Tracking shots where the character was riding on his bicycle, which helped as see the speed at which he was going, and helped create a fast pace along with the cuts along with the tracking shots alternating between the three main characters, who were meeting up. The prop of the spliff on the table helped create a more realistic perspective of a teenagers life, and identify with the audience. The costumes were mostly jeans and a hoodie creating a stereotypical teenager look of hooligans. The lighting throughout the whole extract was high key, this helped present the expressions on all the characters faces.  The use of Make-up in the aftermath of the fight scene, helped portray the danger of the man in the suit and at what lengths he would go to retrieve his money, this also hints to his character as merciless and demonic, do to his brutish attack. 

Escape

Escape used cuts throughout their video, this created fast paced, intense scenes. The use of parallel non-diegetic music helped with the atmosphere of the chase scene, as it assisted in setting the mood of the actual chase from the man in the lab coat. The Prop of the flower in the mans lab coat, was a binary opposite of the mans actual character, who chased down the three boys, as he was portrayed as the villain of the extract and, also it adds a essence of humor as it is uncommon to find a yellow flower on a stereotypical villain, and  breaks down the typical view of a villain. Further more, the costumes used by the three protagonists was of school clothes, which shows they could have been in search of some school answers/cheat sheets, which could also be a binary opposition of a stereotypical hero. Lighting was High-key throughout the the whole extract, it helped show the facial expressions on all the characters faces.      

Overall 

WWW- The media awards was decorated and lighted brightly, with low-key light, with filler lights. All the productions were outstanding and memorable.

EBI- the food was unsatisfactory
