WWE Bragging rights (2010) Reading an image

Colour- The main colours use are red and blue to represent the competition between the two brands Raw and Smackdown. The colour red connotes danger and blue as a safe and peaceful colour, this makes the the audience that prefers good guys to chose the blue (Smackdown) team but if they prefer evil colours then chose red (Raw) team.

Framing-  the wrestlers in the top left are surrounded by blue, where as the wrestlers in the bottom right are surrounded by red. And in the center there is a fusion of red and blue.

Composition- the advert is put together like the yin and yang symbol, where they have replaced the black and white and blue and added in images.

Size- the size of the wrestlers are made to look like larger than life and like heroes to the masses. the typography of the pay-per-view name is like a block and uses two different types of font based on their respective brands.

Type of shot- they have used a medium shot in the frame.

Subject matter- the subject matter is to promote the pay-per-view, where these 10 wrestler have waged war to see which brand is better.

Setting- the setting is not established.

Lighting- the stars are lit up to emphasis there larger than life status and build.

Pose- the poses vary, some of the superstars have their arms folded, connoting a sense of overconfidence, and the others show a battle ready pose, i can connote that they are on their toes, ready to pounce on their opponents.

The Dominant reading is that the people should order and buy their pay-per view to see the stars on the advert fight it out.

The Negotiated reading is give money to us and they let you see these guys wrestle

The Oppositional reading is give us your money.
